An Sd alert means the pressure sensor picked up more foam than the cycle expects, almost always from using too much detergent or a non-HE formula in an HE machine. It's rarely a mechanical failure, but repeated Sd alerts on correctly dosed loads can point to a sensor reading incorrectly.
GE's UltraFresh system runs a fan after the cycle ends to dry out the drum and reduce odor, and it's supposed to shut off on its own after a set period. When it keeps running well beyond that, the control board logic managing the vent cycle is usually the issue, not the fan itself.
